I totally agree! Of course it’s a tremendous challenge to react to people with dementia always patiently and wise, however, it’s the inner attitude: we are here for a reason, let’s make the best of it and, certainly let’s be aware of human dignity. Been a caregiver to my husband…
I so totally agree and love your teachings Teepa Snow ,I recommend watching your videos through my care home training.
My husband goes to Day Care one day a week and it is a wonderful break for both us. I do not refer to it as Day Care,as to him it means he is a child and not in control. I refer to it by the location.Protecting his dignity is maybe more important then making sure he has his pills etc. He is and has always been a very proud gentleman.
